New Jersey consumers and small businesses with fewer than 50 full-time employees can recycle for free at manufacturer-approved collection sites. All computers, monitors, laptops, desktop printers, desktop fax machines, and televisions are accepted for free recycling. Electronic components are recycled through an NJDEP certified electronics recycler, Thanks for Being Green, LLC. At a minimum, these discarded electronic items must be recycled and cannot be disposed of in the trash for disposal.

For broken TVs, contact one of the approved recyclers listed on the NJDEP electronics website for information. The State of New Jersey offers a handful of collection sites in each county so that residents can properly dispose of their Covered Electronic Devices (CED). Remove all rechargeable batteries and recycle before placing items in the trash for disposal.
